Japanese Omakase At Your Stay

Overview

Sushi and seasonal courses, cooked in your kitchen

My chef life began in a small kaiseki restaurant in Tokyo, and for over twenty years I cooked in Japanese kitchens in London before settling in the Cotswolds. I come to your stay and cook Japanese food the way I love it: delicate sushi, an omakase built around the season, or a relaxed spread of small plates. Everything is prepared in front of you, at your pace. Tell me who is joining and what you enjoy, and I will shape a menu that suits the evening.

About me

I am Hiromi, a Japanese chef living in the Cotswolds near Burford. I trained in Tokyo and London, and spent more than two decades cooking sushi and Japanese cuisine in professional kitchens before going private. Cooking for a small table in someone's stay is my favourite way to work: it is personal, calm, and every detail can be just so.

What I'm known for

Omakase and hand-formed sushi, plus contemporary Japanese courses built around the best of the season.

My background and experience

Expect an unhurried evening built around you. I arrive with everything needed, prepare each course in your kitchen, and serve when you are ready. Menus can be a full omakase, a sit-down series of courses, canapes and platters for a party, or a hands-on sushi lesson at the table. I am happy to work around allergies and preferences, and I take care of the tidying before I leave.

The Cotswolds

A small region, generously uncovered: stone cottages, long lunches, wild swims, private chefs. Stay a while. Do something worth the journey.
