About me

I have spent my life watching wildlife from studying peregrine falcons to guiding people of all ages through woods, wetlands and valleys. I am a naturalist, author and long-time birder, and my favourite thing is helping someone notice a bird or animal they would never have spotted alone. I keep things friendly, clear and unhurried, whatever your level.

What I'm known for

Finding the wildlife people miss, and making birdsong and fieldcraft easy for anyone to enjoy.

My background and experience

Twenty-eight years of wildlife research and guiding, including long-term study of peregrine falcons and work with leading conservation organisations, museums and universities. I lead dawn chorus walks, wild boar and deer safaris and birdsong courses across the Forest of Dean, Wye Valley and Cotswolds. Every outing is private and tailored, from a gentle hour to a half day, shaped around what you would most like to see.

Where to meet your host

We meet in the Forest of Dean at select woodland locations depending on the wildlife you would like to see or hear.

The Cotswolds

A small region, generously uncovered: stone cottages, long lunches, wild swims, private chefs. Stay a while. Do something worth the journey.
