About

About

Tormarton Court occupies an elevated south-west facing position that fills the house with natural light and frames far-reaching views across its landscaped gardens. Restored with care by its current owners, the house blends period character with warmth and comfort, creating a refined yet welcoming retreat for extended families or private groups.

Inside

The house offers seven reception rooms arranged for both entertaining and quiet retreat. The Drawing Room, complete with baby grand piano, sets the tone for elegant evenings, while the Morning Room, Dining Room, Breakfast Room, Television Room and Library provide flexible spaces for gathering or relaxing. Open working fires in the principal ground floor rooms add warmth and atmosphere throughout the seasons.
The kitchen, with its traditional AGA alongside a modern electric oven, is designed for convivial cooking and informal breakfasts. Adjacent lies a sheltered Italian courtyard garden, a particularly atmospheric space in the evening with its log burner, soft lighting and fountain.
Accommodation comprises eight bedrooms and five bathrooms, two of which are en-suite, with the option to configure a ninth twin bedroom. The layout works equally well for family stays, celebrations or corporate retreats, with scope to utilise ancillary spaces and the nearby Somerset House barn for larger indoor gatherings.

Outside

The grounds extend to approximately nine acres of formal gardens, lawned terraces and pasture. Mature trees, colourful borders and manicured lawns create a private sanctuary with uninterrupted views across the surrounding countryside. The seasonal swimming pool operates from May to October, and a hot tub can be arranged if desired. Private garden tours led by a former Head Gardener at Kew can also be organised.
The setting provides space for outdoor celebrations, relaxed afternoons on the lawn and evenings under open skies.
