Pye Corner Broadway
Broadway, CotswoldsOverview
A 17th-century house at Broadway's edge
Pye Corner sits on the edge of Broadway, one of the Cotswolds’ most classic towns. The house is a generous 17th-century country residence with eight to ten bedrooms, warm period character, and gardens that hint at the owner’s oriental heritage. It enjoys open country views on three sides, yet remains only an eight-minute walk from Broadway’s pubs, restaurants, and excellent deli. Six bedrooms sit on the first floor — two en-suite — with two second-floor bedrooms ideal for children, linked by a shared playroom and bathroom. The master suite features antique Chinese furniture, a traditional opium bed, and hand-painted murals. The large eat-in kitchen opens through French doors to both the kitchen garden and formal garden. The formal dining room seats 20 beside a broad inglenook fireplace. Seven bathrooms supply plentiful hot water, unusual for a house of this size. A self-contained two-bedroom flat sits above the kitchen wing with its own entrance. It can be added to the main house for extra space — suitable for older children or staff — but is never rented separately. Extensive upgrades in 2021 included the swimming pool and fountain, new wood-burning stoves in the snug and sitting room, and redecoration of the top-floor rooms and flat.

About the space
Two acres of walled garden and orchard
Inside
The interiors feel rich and lived-in: classic Cotswold stone, period details, and gentle oriental touches. Multiple reception rooms offer flexibility for large gatherings — drawing room, sitting room, snug, study spaces, and a generous kitchen–breakfast room that opens to the gardens. Bedrooms range from elegant en-suites to practical children’s rooms, with layout options that suit both families and mixed groups.
Outside
Two acres of walled and gated gardens include lawns, a kitchen garden, a stocked vegetable patch, and an orchard where guests are welcome to pick fruit. At the far end sits the refurbished heated swimming pool (seasonal), with a pool house and children’s play area. The grounds feel private, established, and ideal for long days outdoors.
Where you’ll be and what to do
Pye Corner is an excellent base for exploring Broadway and the wider Cotswolds. The reopened heritage steam and diesel railway — connecting Broadway to Cheltenham Racecourse — is a ten-minute walk, making the house popular for race days. Cheltenham is fifteen miles away, and the surrounding area is rich with walks, pubs, gardens, and historic sites.
